Transportation and Distribution (T&D) is the backbone of Manitoba’s economy — enabling the movement of goods, people, and essential services across the province and beyond. But behind every shipment, flight, or warehouse operation, there are sector organizations working to build the capacity, talent, and systems that keep Manitoba’s industries moving.
This video showcases the collaborative efforts of us, Manitoba’s Transportation & Distribution Sector Council, a government-funded initiative focused on supporting industry growth, strengthening SMEs, and addressing labour challenges across the T&D ecosystem:
- Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) – an advocacy group working on behalf of the trucking industry.
- Supply Chain Manitoba (SCM) – a workforce and industry development organization supporting Manitoba’s supply chain, logistics, and distribution sectors.
- Manitoba Aviation Council (MAC) – supporting aviation career pathways, training partnerships, and airport operations across Manitoba
Together, we are taking action through initiatives such as:
- Job matching events with colleges and universities
- Webinars on workforce trends and technology updates for HR professionals
- Outreach to Indigenous and newcomer communities
- Support for English language training and essential workplace skills
- High school and career fair engagement to introduce students to opportunities in trucking, aviation, logistics, and distribution
Through these coordinated efforts, the Sector Council is helping to build a more inclusive, skilled, and future-ready workforce — one that meets the evolving needs of Manitoba’s transportation and distribution industries.
