Technical Training is a vital part of your apprenticeship program, making up approximately 20% of your apprenticeship time toward Certification. Apprenticeship Manitoba recommends that you work at least half of a level, or 6 months on-the-job, prior to registering and attending the corresponding level of technical training. It is also recommended that an apprentice attend technical training once per year in order to progress through apprenticeship towards completion.
Apprenticeship Manitoba, in collaboration with the colleges, has finalized a technical training schedule for new classes held between April 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024. The below information contains key details and documents including the Course Schedule, Technical Training Policies and Code of Conduct and the Trade Registration Table which contains a breakdown of opening dates for each trade. Please review this information fully and note, Apprenticeship continues to register clients online and over the phone only. It is also important to register for a course at least 10 weeks prior to its start date. A course may be cancelled if there are not enough apprentices registered in it; if this happens, those registered will be notified via email by Apprenticeship Manitoba.
